About + sobre

Eric Tortora Pato is a storyteller—but in a more useful sense, Eric is an Emmy®-winning animator, filmmaker, video + audio producer, senior creative professional, writer, illustrator, 2D and 3D concept artist, and director. He also designs patterns for fashion and products, dabbles in music, and is addicted to collecting skills and hobbies.

Eric is currently based and working in New York City, where they are starting new projects and positions after exiting a 5-year stint as a department leader and lead video, animation, and audio producer at a science-focused PR and Ad agency. Eric also finished a 3-year stint as the lead audio director and producer for a start-up content house, where their team created the podcast The Control Variable, a 2-season documentary and investigative journalism show, season 1 being a miniseries and season 2 being an interview series, led by Kim Cutter and Bryan Blatstein.

Longterm, they plan to head shows and projects in writing, directing, and creative production positions. This is, of course, famously easy to do.

Ibero-American, Portuguese Hispanic, and Italian-American, Eric is a citizen of both the USA and the EU (via Portugal), and speaks some decent amount of English, Portuguese, and (increasingly) Spanish. Eric is also learning Italian and Mandarin Chinese for family, personal, and professional reasons. They are planning on staying in the New York Greater Metro for the foreseeable future, excluding temporary and fully scheduled projects.
